Yoshihiro Murata (in kanji: 村 田吉弘; in Hiragana : む ら た よ し ひ ろ - Kyoto , December 15 , 1951 ) is a professional chef of traditional Japanese food and current regent of the historic Kikunoi restaurant in Kyoto
His beginnings as a chef started at the Kamome restaurant in Nagoya as an apprentice. Afterwards, thanks to the money that his father lent him, he was able to open a small space of a few square meters in Kyoto with a very poor beginnings, with time he eventually managed to gain a place in the gastronomic offer of the city despite his little size. In 1993, Murata inherited from his father the family restaurant, Kikunoi founded in 1912, 2beginning to improve relations between chefs and apprentices, since he believed that to succeed, one had to start by maintaining a desirable work environment within the kitchen.
Chef Murata-San holds seven Michelin Master of Japan's excellent traditional cuisine. He is also a consultant and team member of Singapore Airline's International Culinary Panel and creates a Gourmet Inflight Meals for the airline and its guests.
